Complaints about a roofer. We do not employ, supervise or pay any roofer, so we cannot settle disputes over a roofer's work, price or contract. Start by raising the problem with the roofer in writing and keep copies. If that does not fix it, you can contact the SC Residential Builders Commission, part of the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, at 803-896-4696. The Commission handles complaints about residential builders and specialty contractors, roofers included.

Offers that break the rules. If a roofer offers to pay or rebate your insurance deductible, or offers you a gift, credit or "referral fee" tied to the job, that conduct is against South Carolina law. You can report it to the Residential Builders Commission at the number above. Please let us know too.

Insurance disputes. Disagreements over what your policy covers belong with your insurance company. We take no part in claims.

Telling us helps. Even when a complaint is for the Commission, a short note to us lets us decide whether to keep sending requests to that roofer.
